Was listening to The Roches song 'One Season'. (Had no idea that Maggie Roche would be dead three months later.) Have always loved that line, "I am the only tree, and everybody leaves."
This one is about feeling like a husk. About the times the internal voices win out and I am no longer anchored, blown by the wind without agency.
It was also an attempt to open the format of the strip a little. Am quite happy with it.
