My son invested in a Steam VR helmet, and I couldn't resist making this stupid meta joke. I realized afterward, naturally, that it is from Futurama ... at some point Amy is using a VR device that replicates her using a VR device. "It's just as if I were using VR!"
Still, this comes out of a sense of aged curmudgeon-ism. What a huge waste of money. And I just see it being tossed aside six months from now, as were all the game systems that were so urgently obtained in the past.
That said, it is pretty fucking amazing. All of it. The new frontier.
